Privacy Policy

Summary

MonthSum is designed as a local-first desktop budgeting app. The app does not connect to your bank, does not require a MonthSum account, and does not upload your transaction ledger to MonthSum.

Financial data

Transaction files, pasted activity, categories, recurring bills, spending plans, backups, and reports are handled on your device. If you choose to export or back up data, you control where that file is saved.

Browser trial

The browser trial processes imported and pasted activity in the browser. MonthSum does not receive the transaction data. The trial does not save a reopenable workspace; reloading or closing it clears user-entered trial data.

Website and support

If you email support, the information you send is used to respond to your request. Do not send sensitive financial files unless specifically needed and only after removing information you do not want shared.

Payments and App Store

If MonthSum is purchased through the Mac App Store, Apple handles purchase processing according to Apple’s terms and privacy practices.
